Sansevieria hahnii 'Variegata' Hort

Sansevieria hahnii 'Variegata' Hort is a cultivar derived from the larger S. trifasciata. It has become a popular ornamental foliage plant, forming thick, low rosettes with yellow variegated leaves. There is also a green leaved form, producing abundant offsets and quickly forming large colonies. It is easy to cultivate, tolerating ample watering and dry periods. In winter, it requires a light position and a temperature of 12-15 °C.

Sedum nussbaumerianum

Sedum nussbaumerianum comes from southeastern Mexico. It  is a plant of sunny spots on limestone rocks in semi-dry woods. It forms small shrubs, up to 25 cm tall, but the stems later become prostrate, spreading out from the original plant. They will take root and increase the size of the plant. New individuals can arise from detached or fallen leaves which will root readily. S.adolphi and S. nutans are similar species. All thrive in cultivation and can be recommended for window-sills. In summer, they can be planted outside in gardens, in pots on porches, in pots on porches, balconies, etc.

Sedum rubrotinctum R. T. Clausen

Sedum rubrotinctum R. T. Clausen reaches 15-25 cm in height. If the erect shoots are regularly snipped off, it forms pads of bright green stems, with tops turning red in the sun. S. rubrotinctum comes from higher altitudes of central Mexico where it occurs in coniferous forests, on stony ground, mainly in sunny spots. S. rubrotinctum with green leaves and yellow flowers is a close relative. Some species extend to the north of North America, and they are hardy in the temperate climatic zone, where they survive temperatures below zero.

Sedum morganianum E. Walth.

Sedum morganianum E. Walth, one of the pendent species of Sendum, is often used in Mexico as a decorative plant on porches, patios, staircases and gardens. In temperate climates it grows well under glass and makes an excellent hanging basket plant. In summer, the plant needs abundant and regular watering, in winter this can be considerably reduced and temperatures of around 10° C are best though the plant will stand brief spells to 5° C without damage. A close relative, S. burrito, has blunt-tipped , smaller leaves of the same grey-blue shade. Both species come from the tropical regions of southern Mexico. They are easily propagated from cuttings or detached leaves.

Its pliable spines vary considerably in number and lenght, with some plants having virtually no spines at all. Their colour ranges from pale yellow to copper-brown. Delicately shaded flowers are borne prolifically in spring and periodically in summer.
